With excellent facilities, Ashmansworthy Pools are three intimate waters overlooking a stunning rural valley and only a few miles from the dramatic North Devon coastline. The Pools have been stocked with hand selected, pristine and hard fighting Lana Springs Carp – with the fishery record currently a 38lb 9oz Common.
Each Pool is available for lake exclusive bookings, corporate events and comprehensive angling tutorials.

These beautiful waters have been sympathetically designed by the owners, Simon and Tini Pomeroy, who have been involved within the fishing and fishery management industry for well over two decades. Their intention has been to create a fantastic environment for like-minded anglers, as well as a haven for wildlife – with buzzards overhead and nature all around you. At night, as you wait in anticipation of your next run, you can sit next to one of the fire pits and watch the shooting stars, it really is a very special and immaculately kept venue for anglers to both enjoy and create those fishing memories that last a lifetime.
A huge amount of time, effort and passion has gone into these all-year-round exciting Carp waters with serious focus not only on their build but also their water quality, the strain of Carp and their accompanied feed programme. This gives the discerning angler an amazing experience, to actually be part of the fishery’s forward-thinking plan, within a well-kept natural and secure environment with the highest standards of carp, water quality and facilities.
The fishery record is currently a 38lb 9oz Common, and there are at least four Commons over the 30lb mark.
All three Pools are booked on an exclusive basis for a maximum of 2 anglers per Pool with 1 non-angling guest per angler and 1 well-behaved dog. There is the possibility of 3 anglers on Jack’s Pool by prior arrangement. So the price per session is for the whole lake, not per person.
Also, upon arrival, every booking will receive a FREE Welcome Pack with an RRP of almost £50 comprising : 2 x 400g Squabs, 1kg Method Mix/Groundbait, 1kg Fishery Pellet, 6 x Gripz Hair Rigs, 6 Stonze fishing weights and some pop-up foam to get you started.

Nestled at the bottom of the valley this tranquil 1-acre Pool is aimed for the more experienced angler seeking the challenges that such a water gives.
Packed with features and varying depths, the water has 35 stunning and hand picked Lana Springs Carp that were initially stocked up to 25lb. With our proven, and very unique, feed programme and water quality maintenance we are already seeing healthy weight gains and we are already seeing our Carp moving forward with two Commons now going over the 30lb mark. Though it is never just about the size of our fish, but the expectation is to have fish hitting 40lb plus within the next three years! The lake record currently stands at 38lb 9oz Common, and they’re all gaining healthy weight!
With Jack’s Pool you also get the exclusive use of the Anglers’ Cabin with fridge, electric points, somewhere to store extra gear, charge your phone etc. Or just sit in the comfy chairs, with a brew, looking across this lovely water and see the fish roll and nature at its best.

Looking over the valley this lovely Pool of half an acre is aimed more for the intermediate angler and is heavily stocked for the size of the water. With the fully monitored feed programme we can anticipate the weight gains of the original stock to be substantial in time to come though the venue already has an incredibly beautiful stock to high 20s currently with the lake record being a 36lb 3oz Mirror.
With well-designed self draining swims anglers can drive directly to the closest swim to drop off their kit and the car park is only a matter of a few meters away. The swim comes with an Anglers’ Shed which has a fridge, electric power points, fresh water tap and ample storage for excess kit. Access to the fishery’s toilet and shower is via Jack’s Pool.

Charlie’s Pool sits at the top of the complex with stunning views across the valley in one direction and across to Dartmoor in the distance in the other.
Stocked with 45 carp to just shy of 20lb, the lake record being 26lb 1oz, this is an ideal Pool for the beginner/intermediate angler and more of a runs water.
The Pool comes with an Anglers’ Cabin with its own electricity, water supply and ample room for extra storage. The access to this water means you can park directly behind the swims. Access to the fishery’s toilet facilities and shower is via Jack’s Pool.
